Yes, I’m back. Didn’t mean to take so long to get back to you. Several things are in the works! Look for us to start shipping pizzas in a couple of weeks and keep your eyes and ears open for upcoming beer and wine tastings.

Just a head’s-up. Lacasa will be closed for vacation July 4-11. LaCasa West is closed from June 27th – July 11th, so stop down on Leavenworth for your LaCasa “fix” before the 4th. You can also order a 3/4 baked pizza to save and re-heat while we’re gone.

Still don’t have plans for Valentine’s Day? Join us at LaCasa Pizzaria for a 5 course wine tasting.

Five wines will be paired with Shrimp Bruschetta, Spicy Tomato Basil Soup, two different specialty pizzas, Bracciole (Italian Steak Roll), and Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake.

Barbera is the bomb! The Barbera grape is grown extensively in the Piedmont region of northern Italy and it is believed that cultivation of this grape started in the 1200′s. Although Barbera is often used as a blending grape, modern techniques using oak aging have turned it into a very sophisticated wine.

LaCasa is currently featuring Molino’s Barbera D’Alba DOC 2009. Stop in and try a glass of this deep ruby wine with delicious flavors of cherry and black fruits. A perfect complement to our meat lasagnas or hamburger pizza.

We’ve planned another wine tasting! Join us Wed., Dec. 15th at 6:30 p.m. to try five different wines paired with delicious LaCasa pizzas and appetizers. The cost is only $25 per person and advanced reservations are required. Call, 556-6464 today. We had to turn people away the last time!

We are also featuring Tomato Pesto this month. Try it on pizza or over spaghetti. Fresh and flavorful!

New specials have begun! Pizza Toscana Bianco: garlic cream sauce, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, and spicy Italian sausage topped with mozzarella cheese. Our pasta feature – Penne Salsiccia Melanzane: baked casserole of penne noodles, marinara sauce, spicy Italian sausage, eggplant, fresh mozzarella, ricotta and romano cheeses.

Wine Tasting on Wed., Oct. 20th at 6:30 p.m. We still have a few spots open and it’s only $25 to sample five wines paired with delicious LaCasa food! Call to reserve your spot!

Sorry for my little hiatus from my blog. I’ve been busy fighting City Hall! We aren’t done yet and while I’m rather upset with our City officials, I love my fellow Omahans and really appreciate your support! Be sure to stop in and try our new specials: Pizza Sole and Fettucine con Pesto Pomidoro. We will also be holding a wine tasting in October, more on that later.

BBQ. SUMMER, @ CWS

Summer is here (well, almost) and there’s no better way to celebrate than BBQ and the CWS. June is BBQ month at LaCasa where you can enjoy our BBQ chicken pizza and our BBQ pork ribs.

Be sure to visit the CWS at Rosenblatt and stop at LaCasa before or after the game. Besides our award-winning pizza, you can select from 8 microbrews on tap to wash it down. We are currently featuring 3 Empyrean beers, Lucky Bucket, Cardinal pale ale, Boulevard Wheat, Blue Moon, and Stella Artois.

Not in the mood for beer? Try a glass of “New Age” white wine from Argentina. It’s very refreshing over ice with a slice of lime (yes, I’m suggesting wine over ice). We also are featuring several reds including Coppola Rosso and Col di Sasso.
